Radio Bookclub: To Die Beautiful

The May selection for the Radio Bookclub is To Die Beautiful, by Boulder author Buzzy Jackson.

The novel is a fictionalized retelling of the true story of Hannie Schaft, a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II. She became known as “the girl with the red hair”.

We first meet Hannie in the novel in 1940 as a shy nineteen-year-old law student living in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, who becomes an armed member of the Dutch Resistance movement while protecting her friends.

This edition of the Radio Bookclub was recorded live at the Boulder Bookstore on May 4, 2023.

This episode was broadcast on KGNU on Thursday, May 25 at 9 am.
