Radio Bookclub: The Last Animal

The September selection for the Radio Bookclub is The Last Animal by Colorado author Ramona Ausubel.

At the heart of this novel are teenage sisters Eve and Vera, who along with their mother Jane, are grieving the death of their father. The sisters accompany their scientist mother on a research trip to Siberia where they accidentally discover a perfectly preserved, four-thousand-year-old baby mammoth. The discovery sets off a surprising chain of events, leading mother and daughters to go rogue, pinging from the slopes of Siberia to the shores of Iceland to an exotic animal farm in Italy, and resulting in the birth of a creature that could change the world—or at least this family.

This episode was broadcast on KGNU on Thursday September 28th at 8.30am.

This is Ramona Ausubel’s second visit to the Radio Bookclub.
