Both women ran as out lesbians and won handily. They discuss their approach, support and advice for others.

Jamie got the top votes in Lafayette and is the first out lesbian on Lafayette city council. She is passionate about strategic management of growth and highlighting diversity and social justice.

Jill is a mother of two who has a priority to engage young voters and find community solutions to affordable housing.

They offer their perspectives on polarized politics and how they balance their lives with work, family, and their new public duties.
