Outsources: Paul Chansingthong

Over many years, Thai citizen and businessman, Paul Chansingthong, forged a path through two student visas, a work visa, and finally to a permanent resident. The youngest child of a Chinese father and Thai mother, Paul came to the US to study but then found his golden opportunity and stayed. Through years of his own hard work and unswerving commitment with help from his family, he carved out a life in the US and settled in Boulder county.  Paul and Edward Vanegas created Urban Thai and Kafe Urban in Longmont.

Interviewed by host, Karen Raforth, Paul talks about his experiences and perspective on identity, discrimination, security, understanding immigrants, and more on Outsources at 6:30 p.m. on KGNU 88.5FM/1390AM on Monday, August 8.

This is one of a series of stories of immigration on KGNU. Want more? Check the KGNU Schedule for Outsources and flip back to Outsources’ archives for different perspectives: Juan C Gallegos on July 11, Jennicet Gutierrez on March 28, and immigration lawyer, Bryon Large on April 20.
