CU Boulder and United Nations Human Rights are hosting, Right Hear, Right Now, a three-day human rights-focused climate summit that begins today. As experts, global advocates, and politicians gather, a group of students and faculty will stage a climate strike asking the University of Colorado to divest from fossil fuels. They say that despite CU Boulder’s reputation as a green leader, the school has about $100 million dollars invested in oil and gas.
KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with David Paradis, a senior instructor who helped organize the strike. Paradis says he sees the climate strike as a complement to this weekend’s summit.
