The Boulder Open Studios Tour is a tradition 29 years in the making. Every year since 1995, the Boulder Open Studios Tour has thrown artists’ doors open in Boulder, and now Boulder County, to give people a chance to peek behind the curtains to see the artistic process.
This year, the Boulder Open Studios Tour will be the first three weekends in October for self-guided tours of artists’ working studios. The ongoing tour will be held Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 5:00 pm each day of the first, second, and third weekends of October: October 5th & 6th, 12th & 13th, and 19th & 20th. You are invited to visit select artists studios in Boulder, Gunbarrel, Lafayette, Longmont and unincorporated Boulder County as part of the tour.
On Friday night, September 27th Boulder Open Studios will hold a kickoff celebration at the Dairy Arts Center to get a preview of this year’s tour. KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo spoke with Mary Horrocks, the Executive Director of Open Studios and Angela Rose, a member of the board of Open Studios about the history of Open Studios and what you can catch this year.
