Boulder Museum Opens Design Contest For New Flag

The Museum of Boulder is inviting residents to contribute a design for an unofficial flag representing the city which coincides with Colorado’s 150th anniversary of statehood. The Boulder reporting lab says the contest will be judged by a panel of creative design experts, as well as city management.

Boulder’s current unofficial flag is white with a green band in the middle, also brandishing the flatirons and the city name.

The prize for winning the contest is a 500 dollar cash prize, city’s adoption of the flag design, and an unveiling of their design during a ceremony at the 2026 BOLDER Boulder. The deadline to submit a design is set as April 24, after the Boulder Arts Weeks.

Boebert Says She wants Override Vote Considered for Water Pipeline

Representative Lauren Boebert told 9News she’s spoken with Senate Majority Leader Mike Johnson about a veto override vote pertaining the President’s veto of H.R.131 – The bill was slated to finish a pipeline project providing clean water to 39 communities in the south Eastern Plains of Colorado.

Representative Boebert’s district embodies much of the 39 communities affected. Boebert confirmed she’s seeking other options for the approval of the bipartisan ‘Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act’ passed by the house and senate, saying she’s also considering folding the cost of the water pipeline into other legislation.

Colorado Politics says if the veto override were to go through, it would be the second time an override of a president Trump veto were to go through – the first being the House and Senate both rejecting his veto of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2021 in vetoed during Trump’s first term.
