Dr. Ralph Stanley Remembered


Dr. Ralph Stanley passed away on June 23, 2016, after a lifetime of performing bluegrass music. He began playing in 1946 with his brother, Carter Stanley in The Stanley Brothers, and continued to perform throughout his life as the leader of The Clinch Mountain Boys.

Saturday evening, Dr. Ralph Stanley took the stage with his Clinch Mountain Boys for a magical festival moment. At age 85, it was a rare and treasured experience to hear Dr. Ralph Stanley and witness an American music icon.
