Members of the Colorado Sunrise Movement circulated a fake letter on official city letterhead at this year’s Sustainable Denver Summit. The letter, appearing to be from Denver Mayor Michael Hancock’s Office, included a climate emergency announcement and an apology for allowing the Suncor oil company to sponsor the Summit. Morgan Anker, Communications Director for Sunrise Colorado, explained the reasoning behind their disinformation tactic.
