Making Democracy Work for All! Hunger and Democracy in Boulder County

The League of Women Voters of Boulder County is turning its attention to hunger and how it impacts people in Boulder County.

On Saturday November 11th it hosted a screening of the documentary “A Place at the Table”, which explores how hunger poses serious economic, social and cultural implications for our nation, and how it could be solved once and for all.

Liz Black, a member of the LWVBC Social Policy Team, told Rossana Longo Better that the food security series is in keeping with the League of Women Voters’ history of expanding people’s understanding of how to make democracy more receptive and responsive to the needs of all Americans. The LWVBC’s  Social Policy Team is working to insert the issue of food security into this conversation.  “Hear and learn from the experts, why this is an issue not only in our own community but affected by the policies at the state and national level.”

The next event in the series is on Saturday , November 18th, 2:30pm to 4:30, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Boulder.
