On Radio Nibbles, host John Lehndorff talked about a month full of events tied to sustainability.

The inaugural Food Waste Prevention Week, April 7-13, is a national effort to reduce wasted food on farms, and in markets and homes. It supports the environment and farmers, saves residents money, and reduces local food insecurity.

Stop Food Waste Day, April 30, is the largest single day of action in the fight against global food waste.

Zero Foodprint – a non-profit national sustainability effort – is partnering with restaurants to launch Unfork the Planet, April 21-27. For one week, restaurants are asked to spotlight one climate-smart dish.

Jill’s Restaurant hosts its annual Earth Day Vegan Dinner on April 22. Menu features local ingredients in dishes like Tuscan ribollita soup and mushroom and potato hash.

Resource Central Boulder hosts an Earth Day sale on April 22 with 22% off yard and garden essentials including recycled and reclaimed landscaping rocks, planters, pots, yard tools, and garden accessories.
