LGBTQ Asylum Seekers with Edafe Okporo

Originally aired in August 2020, OutSources collective member Yvonne Krumrey interviews Edafe Okporo, a writer and advocate for other LGBTQ asylum seekers like himself. Since immigrating from Nigeria in 2016, Okporo has written three books — Bed 26: A Memoir of an African Man’s Asylum in the United States (2018), Compassion Is Worth More! Using Your Civil Power to Create Change (2020), and most recently Asylum: A Memoir and Manifesto (2023).
