The Labor Exchange: Mike Cerbo, Executive Director of Colorado AFL-CIO

This week on the Labor Exchange, host Dennis Creese spoke with Colorado AFL-CIO Executive Director Mike Cerbo. They talked about the AFL-CIO’s “Colorado Working Families Agenda”,  anti-worker bills such as A. HB 1076 – “Right to Work for Less”, and other effects of the 2015 legislative session on Colorado workers and families.

About Mike Cerbo: Before coming to the Colorado AFL-CIO as Executive Director in 2007, Mike served as a Colorado State Representative. He was elected to three two-year terms, from 2003 until October 2007. During this time, he was the Majority Caucus Chair in 2006 – 2007. He sat on various committees, serving as Vice-Chair of the House Business Affairs and Labor committee in 2006.

Mike served as the Secretary-Treasurer and Business Manager for the Hotel and Restaurant Employees Local 14 for 24 years, from 1980 until 2004. During this time, he organized Food and Beverage employees at Pepsi Center and Coors Field into Local 14.

Mike has a B.A. in Political Science from University of Colorado at Denver and a J.D. from University of Denver College of Law.

Every other week host Dennis Creese, member of the Boulder Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO, interviews local and national labor activists and workers.
