“Hildegard Speaks” Film Premiere in Colorado

April 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm MDT

The new film by Boulder filmmaker, Michael M. Conti, “Hildegard Speaks,” will premiere in Colorado on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Boedecker Theater at the Dairy Arts Center with show times at 6:00pm and 7:30pm. “Hildegard Speaks” is 65 minutes long. Director Michael Conti will be in attendance, along with producer Heather Boyle.

“Hildegard Speaks” is a unique film based upon historic quotations from the writings of Saint Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179). Award-winning author and theologian Dr. Annette Esser wrote nine texts in which Hildegard, so to say, candidly speaks for herself. Filmed in Germany along the 130km Hildegard Way Trail, highlights of Hildegard’s life story and her own personal insights are told by Dr. Esser in character as the beloved saint. Dr. Esser initiated the Hildegard of Bingen Pilgrimage Way trail, which winds through the German countryside along the historic sites where the Saint lived in the 12th Century. While taking this “walk with a Saint” viewers will experience how Hildegard may have sounded; gain insight into her timeless wisdom; explore the lovely trails through forests, farms, vineyards, and tiny medieval villages; and discover how the Hildegard Way trail came into being in 2017.
