Singer/songwriter David Starr (lead vocals, guitar) and Erik Stucky (mandolin, guitar, background vocals) are a powerful combination of memorable songs, world-class musicianship and honest storytelling sure to entertain from the most intimate listening rooms to the largest audiences. Meeting in the rugged mountains of western Colorado, they have been playing folk/roots music together for over 10 years touring the US and UK, writing songs, and performing on each other’s recordings.
With over 10 albums to his credit, David Starr has honed his decades-long career touring internationally and sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as John Oates (Hall & Oates) and John McEuen, as well as opening for acts like America, Jim Messina, Karla Bonoff, Survivor, and more. His latest project Better Me, features acoustic-driven songs such as the title track and “Closer To You,” the feisty blues-rock “Poison The Water,” as well as “Any Chance Of Going Home,” showcasing Starr’s masterful storytelling. In 2022, he was a showcasing artist at Folk Alliance International, AmericanaFest, and Southwest Regional Folk Alliance, affirming he is a need-to-know artist in today’s folk scene.
Influenced heavily by New Grass Revival and Lyle Lovett, Erik Stucky is known for his easy listening voice and lyrics (think Jack Johnson or Jason Mraz) and has held prestigious stages across the United States and Europe lending his talents to artists such as Jamie O’Neal. Performing on the mandolin and guitar, his sophomore album, Good Vibrations (2021) combines his passion for lyric writing, folk instrumentation, and big band arrangements. Between tight harmonies and beautiful acoustic arrangements, their friendship ultimately shines between the two of them, making it evident that they’re having just as much fun as the audience.
