Crisis to Camaraderie: The 2013 Flood Photo Exhibit
Sept. 14–Fall 2024 in Kaiser Classroom C; free admission when room is available
Opening event: Thursday, Sept. 14, 6 pm; free, no reservation needed
The flood of Sept. 11-15, 2013 caused catastrophic damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure in Longmont and highlighted our community’s vulnerability to extreme weather. The community’s collective response over the past decade has allowed Longmont to rebuild even stronger. To mark the 10-year anniversary of the flood, the Museum is presenting an exhibition of photographs taken by community members of the 2013 flood, its aftermath and recovery.
On Thursday, Sept. 14, join us at 6 pm as we unveil the photo exhibit and chat about the flood with Longmont Museum Curator of History Erik Mason. This opening event will precede Motus Playback Improv Theatre’s “Stories of the Flood,” at 7 pm, a free community talk and performance to remember this major event in Longmont’s history
