Chris Combs is a guitarist, composer, and producer from Tulsa, OK, whose work with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, COMBSY, and many more have achieved international acclaim for blending jazz, hip-hop, and experimental elements with a love for improvisation. He has performed and presented his work at some of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals, including North Sea Jazz, Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazzwerkstatt Bern, SXSW, Blue Note Jazz Festival, and many more. His trio release is out this September on Horton Records and features JFJO/Electric Beethoven alum Josh Raymer on drums and Aaron Boehler (Hanson, Wilderado) – the Colorado dates will include Denver-based Hunter Roberts (Break Science, Butterfly Quintet) on bass. Together they forge a unique blend of modern tones; with exciting original works complemented by new arrangements of tunes from Frank Ocean and J Dilla and wild takes on classics from Charles Mingus and Thelonius Monk.
