Black Movement Festival: Hip-Hop Majorette with Michael Gray/ MIKEY G

This dynamic class pays homage to the rich history of majorette, a dance form deeply ingrained in HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) culture, now seamlessly blended with the beats of hip-hop. Immerse yourself in the movement’s evolution as a powerful form of self-expression and empowerment within Black communities. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a newcomer, this class promises an exhilarating experience, bridging generations and styles.

Michael Gray, aka “Mikey G,” Choreographer/Dancer/Creative Director, Founder of Versatile Entertainment Dance Company, originally from Chicago, IL….Michael has danced overseas on 2 International China Tours and has graced the Stage with Artists such as “Missy Elliott” At the 2019 MTV VMA’s and in her 2008 “Ching a Ling” Music Video, “Vivian Green” (I don’t know) Music Video, BET’s “Boomerang” and more…..Currently Working as a Professional Dancer/Choreographer for Musical Artists, Dance Companies, Studios, and entertainment companies in Atlanta, GA, and Chicago, IL….Michael has started a Hiphop-Majorette movement in Chicago and Atlanta, where he’s taught Hip-hop/Majorette at “Area Dance Studio.”
