Gift of Jazz and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra are thrilled to present a centennial tribute to artist and composer Thad Jones.
This program will also feature the East High Jazz Combo, as well as Keith Oxman (director of the East High Jazz Combo). Thad Jones had a stellar career as a trumpeter and composer throughout the 60s and 70s, winning a grammy for his work with Mel Lewis. Thad’s harmonically-rich charts are favorites of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra (MJO), a top-notch big band here in the Front Range. Join us for this important community concert to celebrate this great jazz legend!
