Keeping It Cool With The Coalition: An Inside View On Local Independent Radio

KGNU is proud to be a part of the Rocky Mountain Community Radio Coalition, a collective of community radio stations all across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region.

In fact, KGNU is a founding member of this organization and has led the way in collaborative projects in this region for decades.

Rocky Mountain Community Radio has just hired its first-ever managing editor to help all the newsrooms in the network share more stories and lift up even more community voices.

KGNU’s Rossana Longo-Better spoke with Maeve Conran, former news director of KGNU and now the first Managing Editor of this coalition of stations around Colorado about the importance of independent radio and the need of providing news to areas that have very little grassroots coverage.
