Award-winning journalist, author and professor Linda Villarosa will be in town this afternoon for a speaking engagement at her alma mater; CU Boulder. Villarosa will present her latest book, Under The Skin; The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation. The book examines how accumulated experiences with racism negatively influence health outcomes of Black people in the US, especially with pregnant Black women.
Villarosa will speak in CU Boulder’s Old Main building at 5pm this afternoon and tomorrow at 6pm at the Colfax location of Tattered Cover in Denver. KGNU’s Michele Simpson sat down with Linda Villarosa to discuss her latest work.
