It’s Bird Migration Season

Saturday, May 20 is World Bird Migratory Day. Environment for the Americas is a nonprofit that works to conserve bird populations through education and community outreach, will facilitate over 700 World Bird Migratory Day events across the Western Hemisphere.

Boulder’s event at Walden Pond will celebrate the return of migratory birds from their southern wintering sites with bird-watching walks, Bird ID games, and live birds of prey from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.

KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with Dr. Susan Bonfield, the director of Environment for the Americas about tomorrow’s festivities and why she keeps seeing the same birds every day on her bike commute to work.
