Installation at History Colorado Hints at the Future of Adobe

Summer festivals are in full swing across Denver. If you were anywhere near History Colorado yesterday – perhaps among the throngs of cyclists riding the car-free “Viva Denver Streets,” or within the crowds at the Denver Art Museum’s free admission day, or perhaps admiring the long lines of custom made lowriders parked nearby – you may have noticed an earthen sculpture in the making.

Architect and San Luis Valley native Ronald Rael is behind the installation at History Colorado called Mud Futures. KGNU News Director Shannon Young sat down with him during a break to chat about how he’s combining new technology with one of humanity’s oldest building materials.
