Hickenlooper Apologizes to Descendants of those Massacred at Sand Creek

Governor Hickenlooper became the first Colorado Governor to publicly apologize to descendants of those massacred at Sand Creek 150 years ago.  Addressing Cheyenne and Arapaho tribe members at a ceremony at the state capitol on Wednesday the Governor said that “We should not be afraid to criticize and condemn that which is inexcusable …On behalf of the state of Colorado, I want to apologize,”
