The Colorado Senate yesterday passed a bill that calls for standards for compost labels and prohibits marketing look-alike compostable products. This comes after the Federal Trade Commission announced last week that they are cracking down on so-called greenwashing practices. KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with Dr. Thomas Lyon, a Dow professor of sustainable Science, technology, and Commerce about what counts as greenwashing and why the government is taking action to stop it.
