Fundraiser at Shine to Build New Cultural Center in Kokrobite, Ghana

On Thursday, December 1st, The Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place in Boulder will feature a fabulous musical event that is a fundraiser for a new Akpe Cultural Center in Kokrobite, Ghana. The fundraiser will feature the talents of Wendy Woo, Logo Ligi, Desi Caliente and many more, along with a silent auction and a market of African art and goods. The event is supported by the Boulder County Arts Alliance and folks can make contributions to the Alliance to benefit the Akpe Cultural Center.

KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo spoke with organizer Maputo Mensah about the fundraiser and why the Akpe Cultural Center means so very much to him and to the children of Kokrobite, Ghana.
