This Indigenous Peoples Day, KGNU’s Abby O’Brien spoke to Laurie Rugenstein from Right Relationship Boulder about the Fort Chambers project, a piece of land where a local militia trained before participating in the Sand Creek massacre. We hear about the history, the acquisition by the City of Boulder, and collaborative conversations with tribal leaders about how to develop an interpretive site there.
