Four Mile Fire Department: 4 Mile Challenge

The Fourmile Fire Department is made up of 4 staff and about 40 volunteers. They played a crucial role in the Fourmile fire of 2010 and the floods of 2013. They are seeking to build a new firestation – a permanent home for the fire department and are hosting a 10 mile run up Fourmile Canyon to Gold Hill, on September 7th, 2014, to raise funds.

Fourmile Fire Chief Bret Gibson says that fire departments like Fourmile play a crucial role in the community particularly at this time of year when there is a stronger likelihood of events like fires and floods.
