Today, the Environmental Working Group – or EWG – released a new analysis looking at agriculture and water in the seven drought-plagued Colorado River states. Anne Schechinger is the EWG’s Midwest Director, as well as an agricultural economist. She authored the report. KGNU’s Jackie Sedley sat down with Schechinger to talk about her major findings, the roughly $1 billion in payments Colorado’s received related to drought, and what she thinks the federal government should be doing to help farmers and agriculture.
