In the past year we’ve seen and discussed the convergence of Black-led and Black-curated spaces in Boulder. There’s Proclaiming Colorado’s Black History at the Boulder Museum, The Melanin Funk Fest that happened at the beginning of September, and more recently, we spoke to Adderly Grant-Lord who has been convening and curating a Black arts community.

This Thursday marks the start of the Electric Black Earth Festival, an afrofuturist and astrological festival at Naropa University in Boulder. KGNU’s Jackie Sedley spoke with to Ramon Gabrieloff-Parish, an assistant professor at Naropa University and organizer of the event.
