Election 2017: What you need to know

On November 7, Boulder County voters will go to the polls to select council members in Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and Louisville. There are also school board candidates to be selected and several ballot issues to decide. Ballots were mailed out on October 16th.

Boulder County Clerk Hillary Hall talked to KGNU’s Roz Brown about important dates for this year’s election and a new online interactive voter data tool that allows anyone with a computer to look up the active voter registration counts for Boulder County voters by party, gender, age range, municipality, and precinct.

October 30 is the last day to register or change your registration and still be sent a ballot in the mail. If you register or change your registration after this date, you must vote in person. (There is no voter registration deadline in Colorado).

If you choose to mail your ballot, postage is 49-cents or a Forever Stamp (additional postage required if you need to return a copy of your ID) and you must mail the ballot in plenty of time for it to be delivered by the post office by November 7th. Otherwise, there are many drop-off locations in communities around the state.
