Dr. Nita Mosby-Henry: Grand Marshal for 2015 Denver Pride Parade

Outsources producer Karen Raforth has a follow-up discussion with Dr. Nita Mosby-Henry, Grand Marshal for 2015 Denver Pride Parade. Mosby-Henry challenged the crowd with the real context in which we all live– struggling with race, gender, ability, immigration, and much more.

She is an award-winning diversity leader recognized both locally and nationally. She is one of the 2014 Most Powerful and Influential Women of Colorado according to the Colorado and National Diversity Council.

Dr. Mosby-Henry has served as the Diversity Chairperson for the Human Rights Campaign at both local and national levels. She is a former board member of the One Colorado Education Fund, has served on the National Diversity Council and Colorado Black Women for Political Action among many others.

She has received a 5280 award from Denver Mayor Hancock and an Inclusiveness award from the National Diversity Council. Currently the Vice President for Children’s Hospital, she was the former executive director of the Office of Human Resources for the City and County of Denver. Her career spans nearly 30 years of human resources and operations leadership in industries including healthcare, telecom, energy and government.

As a poised, lesbian, African American woman, she counsels others to be vulnerable and authentic in their career and their life–as she has modeled. No stranger to challenges and struggles herself, she says “the cure for pain is in the pain.”
