TEENS, Inc. is a Nederland based non-profit that serves youth in the mountain communities west of Boulder. They offer a variety of different programming for the teens that they serve to encourage youth and their families to make healthy choices. The programs include: Youth employment, Outdoor Leadership, Recreation, Education, (their alternative high school, Chinook West, serves 24 – 30 at risk students year.)
Sue Churches with TEENS, Inc., says the 30 year old NED*NED race is now a fundraiser for the organization. The race is happening Saturday September 12th and there will be a 5K and a half marathon. The 5k runs to just beyond Nederland Middle Senior High School and returns using the same route. The 1⁄2 Marathon essentially goes to the beginning of Eldora and returns cutting up the USFS Sugar Magnolia trail down West Mag, crossing 119 to East Magnolia, to USFS trail 606, and back to Nederland.
