Earthlinks connects homeless and low-income people with the natural world in three urban Denver locations. They offer trips to lakes and mountains with hiking and picnic lunches for folks who might otherwise sit idly in a day shelter. Visitors to the facilities can learn about worm farms, beehives, growing vegetables, composting, and more. Co-director Julie Schwab shares details with host Nikki Kayser.
