Many of us who have had pets over the course of our lives understand how powerful the relationship with an animal companion can be.

Local author Patricia Eagle says her relationships with dogs have saved her life.

Her new book, Dog Love Stories: The Canines Who Changed Me, emphasizes the power of companionship.

Eagle is currently wrapping up a book tour, and will be at the Boulder Bookstore tonight.

Her and her dog, Mercy Mercy Me, joined KGNU’s Jackie Sedley in-studio.
