KGNU Broadcast Live On-Air
A self-avowed “rave child of the ‘90s,” Electronic Air co-founder, E23, has modular synth cable roots that run deep through the music and culture of Electronica & EDM. “Techno,” once dismissed as a post-Disco fad, spawned numerous sub-genres and survived both the rise of Europe’s mega-clubs as well as the legislative backlash of the USA’s R.A.V.E. Act. Through it all, E23 has remained constant - producing his own original electronic music tracks, organizing rave events, grooving on the dance floor, and now for over three decades, DJ’ing internationally, at clubs and raves, on the FM airwaves, and on the Web. His DIY sound system aesthetic was influenced in parts by Pirate Sound System, Trust Crew, Deadly Systems, and Even Furthur; while his sound is shaped by an “illclectronic” blend, mixing up Progressive, Minimal Techno, Trance, Breaks, Dubstep, Tech-House, Ambient, and all forms of non-Commercial electronic productions - the likes of which are vital to KGNU’s time-tested and beloved brand of Community Radio. E23 co-founded Electronic Air on KGNU in 1995 with Captain Scarlet, Selena Dubgoddess, Iron Feather, and devslashnull, in addition to producing many programs in the MSA and ASA time slots, as well as The Present Edge, and Under the Floorboards. He was also previously KGNU’s satellite engineer (1994-1999), and helped bring KGNU online with its first webcast program, Electronic Air (beginning in 1995). He has worked in College, Public, Commercial, and Community Radio, and was program director for one of the globe’s pioneering iRadio stations, RadioValve (1997-2002). For several years he taught Digital Audio Production at the University of Denver, where he also helped launch KVDU.
