Election Day is quickly approaching – just over a month away. Over the next handful of weeks here on KGNU, we’ll be providing you listeners with news you can use – helpful information to take with you to the polls on November 5 – or when you get your mail-in ballot in just a couple of weeks.
We won’t be able to cover every single ballot measure, or host an on-air debate for every single race – we simply don’t have the time or resources. But, we’ll do what we can.
Today, we’ll be focusing on District 19, which includes Erie, Firestone, Dacono, Frederick, and Del Camino. We’ll be diving specifically into the race to represent the district in the Colorado House of Representatives.
The position is currently held by Democratic Rep. Jennifer Parenti of Erie. However, Parenti dropped her reelection bid back in July.
A month later, she was replaced on the November ballot by one of the two individuals that joined KGNU’s Jackie Sedley at the Boulder studios this morning.
The new Democratic nominee for the District 19 House of Representatives race is Jillaire McMillan.
The Republican nominee is Dan Woog.
