The Denver Actors Fund has been a vital part of the theater community for many years. They’ve provided hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical relief to theater professionals in the community along with an army of volunteers that have helped out these artists over the years. And now, due to the COVID-19 crisis, theater professionals are again facing economic hardships unlike anything in recent memory. And again, the Denver Actors Fund has risen to the challenge. They’ve created the DEAR, (or Denver Actors Fund Emergency Artist Relief) Program, which will provide small, one time payment stipends to actors who are in dire need due to the economic implications of this crisis. KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo had the chance to speak with Denver Actors fund Board President Chris Gibley, about the Denver Actors Fund, and this new initiative.
