CU Students Weigh in on School’s Handling of Security Situation on University Hill

Alleged threats from a man who published an 800 page manifesto rife with violence in academic settings caused the evacuation of an elementary school and shelter-in-place orders on University Hill last Tuesday. The suspect has been identified as a former lecturer at UCLA and threats caused that university to shift to online classes. Some people in the CU Boulder community wonder why they received so little information when the suspect was physically just a block away from the heart of campus. KGNU’s Ellie Stuckrath asked CU community members their thoughts on how the university handled communication with students and staff and how they were affected by last Tuesday’s events.
