Colorado EV exchange program provides alternative to EV tax credit

Colorado’s electric vehicle, or “EV,” tax credit offered residents credit when they bought or leased an EV, saving them money on the upfront cost of purchasing the vehicle and on fuel and maintenance costs. The credit has run out, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t options to receive a rebate. The Colorado EV Exchange program is an alternative way to get a good deal for your high-emitting vehicle. KGNU’s Grace Maruska spoke with Mike Salisbury of the Colorado Energy Office to talk about what the tax incentives and EV exchange programs mean for those who are interested in helping reduce Colorado’s greenhouse gas emissions. She also spoke with Bonnie Trowbridge, the Executive Director of Drive Clean Colorado.
