Class Action Law Suit to Stop Homeless Sweeps in Denver

“There’s no such thing, really, as homeless Constitutional rights. There are simply Constitutional rights.” -Denver Attorney, Jason Flores Williams.

Denver attorney Jason Flores Williams is looking to file a class action law suit in order to get a federal injunction that would stop the sweeps targeting homeless in the city.  He says the poor and homeless in Denver are being illegally detained, arrested, and having their property seized in violation of the United States Constitution.

“We need to organize, and then litigate these issues in court, so these people will be respected, and their place in the community of Denver will be preserved.”

Those who have experienced police harassment in homeless sweeps are strongly encouraged to attend a meeting about the class action lawsuit and possibly be plaintiffs in the case. The meeting is at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Denver Public Library, Central Branch, 10 W. Fourteenth Ave. Pkwy.
