Civic Action Calendar: Week of June 4

Today, Thursday June 4 at noon – Aurora Unidos CSO will call on CU to end its contract with Key Lime Air in Greeley at a meeting of the CU Regents

The group will demonstrate at the CU Regents meeting at noon with an opportunity for individuals to speak during a public comment period at 1 p.m. The group demands that Key Lime Air and jetCenters of Colorado divest from ICE deportation activities. Today, Thursday June 4 at 7 p.m. – Weld County Dems will hold an “HD 19 Candidate Forum” at the Erie Community Center

Local legislative candidates have been invited by Weld County Dems to express their positions on a wide range of topics. Weld county residents will have an opportunity to learn about candidates’ values and positions on key issues. That’s at Erie Community Center, 450 Powers St in Erie, CO. Saturday at 9:30 a.m. – Indivisible is holding a gathering to inform others of a nationwide boycott of Home Depot on Arapahoe St, Boulder

The group will hold this meeting in person at 9:30 a.m. at the northwest corner of Arapahoe Avenue & 30th Street. More info and registration at mobilize.us.

Sunday from 11 am to 1 p.m. – Indivisible’s local front range chapter will be holding a weekly demonstration to stand against ICE and to honor Alex Pretti

Pretti had ties to the Arvada community. Find the event at West 80th Ave. & Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada

Monday at 6 p.m. – African American Cultural Events (ECAACE) will host a dialogue exploring how housing systems have displaced communities.

“13 Fires: Displacement by Design” invites community members to explore the “realities of displacement, past and present, and how systems of redlining, urban renewal, and gentrification have reshaped communities in Indianapolis, Boulder, Denver, and beyond.” The event will be at the Second Baptist Church, 5300 Baseline Road in Boulder, CO. Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. – League of Women Voters is hosting a video conference on Protecting the Civil Rights of Immigrants in Colorado

The group will hold this meeting via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. More info and registration at lwv.colorado.org.
