Boulder County Senior Law Day 2016

On Saturday August 6th, seniors, family members, and care givers from all across Boulder County are invited to the Plaza Event Center in Longmont to participate in the 7th annual Boulder County Senior Law Day. This event is aimed at giving seniors and their families and caregivers, all kinds of legal advice from information on medicare to advice on creating wills and everything in between.

This event originated with the Colorado Bar Association and is run entirely by volunteers.  KGNU’s Maeve Conran spoke with Pete Rogers, a local elder law attorney who will presenting at the event, and Claire Hunter, a Consumer Specialist in the Community Protection Division in the Boulder County District Attorney’s office.

Hazel Heckers is a vicim advocate in the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s ID theft and fraud unit. She will be presenting at Boulder County Senior Law Day. Heckers and Ralph Gagliardi, the agent in charge of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s ID theft and fraud unit tell KGNU listeners about the different ID theft and scams that target seniors in Colorado.
