Being Water Conscious

One of the challenges the legislature will tackle is water rights. Right now Colorado is considering a statewide water plan that will affect us all. I caught up with 2 of 4 presenters who were in Boulder tomorrow Saturday for a workshop titled, “Undaunted Gardens: Daunting Water Supplies“, brought together by Boulder County Audubon to help us be conscientious water citizens. I learned that water rights are older than property rights.

Ken Neubecker will show slides that graphically depict what happens to streams and the habitat along the rivers of the Western Slope that have had their water depleted.
