Allies Series: Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples

This edition of the allies series, which offers thoughts on how we can act as allies to groups who are currently facing political attacks (i.e., virtually all marginalized groups), explores the question of how non-Native folks can act as allies to Native peoples. Janis Bohan and Glenda Russell talk with Jerilyn DeCoteau (Turtle Mountain Chippewa) and Paula Palmer of the Right Relationship Project about their work together and the role of allies in the movement to secure legal and social rights for Native peoples. We discuss what it means to act as an ally to Native peoples, as well as some of the rewards for allies and Native people of this sort of joint effort. Image L-R – Jerilyn DeCoteau, Paula Palmer
