The Jaipur Literature Festival runs from September 21st to September 23rd 2018 at the Boulder Public Library. It’s the fourth year that the festival has come to Boulder.
In this edition of the After Hours at the Radio Book Club Podcast co-hosts Maeve Conran of KGNU and Arsen Kashkashian of the Boulder Bookstore speak with Nassim Nicholas Taleb who spent 25 years as a trader before becoming a researcher in philosophical, mathematical, and (mostly) practical problems with probability. He is the author of a multi-volume essay, the Incerto, translated into 37 languages, backed up by 60 scholarly papers in statistical physics, philosophy, ethics, and medicine. Taleb is currently Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering at NYU’s Tandon School. His current focus is on the properties of systems that can handle disorder (“antifragile“).
