A Community Conversation with Julian Rubenstein, author of “The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun, and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood”

Since its release in May 2021, “The Holly” has sparked controversy amongst Denver residents and city officials. This community dialogue centers on themes from the book, specifically police use of confidential informants, gang and crime reduction, the targeting of activists, and the stories of the people impacted.

This conversation features Julian Rubenstein and central figure Terrance Roberts, featuring sneak preview clips from the forthcoming documentary “The Holly” to help guide the conversation, poets from Sacred Voices, and members of community advocacy groups.
