Harlin Savage of Eco-Cycle joins us to talk about recycling after the holidays, when it is estimated that Americans create 25% more waste.
We’ll hear how to compost christmas trees and recycle wrapping paper as well as how to have a zero waste new year.
Harlin says DO NOT put wrapping paper in curbside bins as the paper is has too many metallic elements and can not be recycled with other paper. Similarly, tissue paper is too degraded to be recycled with other paper, but can be placed in the compost. Christmas trees can also be composted.
