Lisa Armao is a retired Montessori teacher and after a 30-year career teaching, she created a nonprofit called the Early Childhood Service Corps. It’s a program that recruits older adults to work in preschools across Colorado. Since its inception and 2021, the program has grown exponentially.
Today Armao has more than a hundred trainees working in preschools across the Front Range. Some of her trainees work as volunteers and others as full-time trained staff. KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with Armao about why she started the program, anti-aging and using old solutions to fix modern-day problems.
