What shows do you host on KGNU and how long have you been with the station?
I began my journey with KGNU in the spring of 2025 and so far have had the pleasure of hosting Morning Sound Alternative, Solta Gael, and Highway 322.
Who is your favorite artist and/or album of all time?
That is a tough one. In what musical genre? 🙂
I love Folk, Singer- Songwriter, acoustic instrumentals, world, electronic and Progressive rock, Celtic, Trad, Bluegrass, Dixieland, Blues, Jazz, Big Band, Broadway show tunes, to classical, Choral, and Opera, and I’m sure that I missed something.there is so much new great music, too. I am loving The Paper Kites.
Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is a classic; However, (right now), my ‘stuck on a desert island’ music would probably be the music of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Pucinni, Richard Shindell, Paul Simon (and Simon & Garfunkel), Loreena McKennit, Nancy Griffith, Willie Hammond, and Ars Nova… again, what am I missing?
What is your Zodiac sign and what (if anything) does it say about you?
Capricorn. I tend to be a little OCD at times!
If you could have any musician’s record collection, whose would it be?
Oh. Good question! Since I am not aware of what their collection contains, I do not know, but surmising from his wide breadth of musical interest, it might be the record collection of Paul Simon.
What song do you never get tired of playing on air?
I have an internal regulator for that sort of thing. Still, the music of Willie Hammond, Sons and Brothers, Richard Shindell, John Prine, Steeleye Span, or old tunes by Tom Waits get that regulator spinning. For Classical, it would definitely be Rach 2.
What is something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
For a number of years I had the pleasure and privilege of being a steam locomotive fireman and student engineer on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Running a steam engine is like harnessing a dragon– with its permission, of course. It is awesome.
